M-EWO Reports

Maintenance Emergency Work Orders (M-EWO) are important to WCM because they summarize incidents and facilitate the root cause analysis and action item planning process that occurs after a maintenance issue, such as a machine breakdown. The Weever Apps M-EWO section makes it easy for staff to initiate, update and track M-EWOs.

  1. Initiate a report - automatically or manually
  2. Summary information - include machines, parts, key dates/times, photos/drawings, and more ...
  3. Root cause analysis - including 5W + 1H
  4. Post Maintenance Inspection
  5. Food Safety Inspection (Food production sites only)
  6. Action Items - with assignments and due dates
  7. View status of all M-EWOs in real-time
  8. Managers can also view a comprehensive list of in progress action items in their plant

How to use the M-EWO reports:

 

1   Initiate a report - automatically or manually

  • To initiate a report manually, operators tap the green “New Report” (+ button on mobile/tablet) and complete the required information.
  • Alternatively, summary reports can be automatically added through an automated integration with Informance. Each summary report contains metadata including the machine involved and key times. Maintenance Planners can reject these reports or add additional information to start the M-EWO process.

2   Summary information - machines, parts, key dates/times, photos/drawings

  • To document the maintenance event, staff can snap photos, add drawings and use ‘auto-complete’ lists to add machines and parts.
  • When you complete a summary report, a unique M-EWO project folder is created.
  • Project folders include the forms required to complete the root cause analysis, maintenance follow up activities and preventive action items.

 

 

3   Root cause analysis - including 5W + 1H

  • A why-why analysis helps staff get to the root cause of the issue.
  • Staff answer a few basic questions to aid preventive maintenance and identify the “Phenomenon” (how the problem occurred).
  • Staff then use the root cause analysis tree to brainstorm explanations and, ultimately, identify a root cause statement.
  • Identify and assign immediate actions.

 

4   Post Maintenance Inspection

  • Maintenance staff are asked to review a quick questionnaire to confirm the repair was completed correctly.

 

5   Food Safety Inspection

(Food production sites only)

  • Operators are asked to ensure that the event did not create any issues to food safety.

6   Action Items - with assignments and due dates

  • Supervisors can create and assign Action Items, which is a list of actions necessary to reduce the risk of this incident in the future.
  • Supervisors add an overview of the action, assign an owner and add expected and actual closure dates.
  • Additional action items can be added.

7   View real-time plant-wide M-EWO status

  • Navigate to the “M-EWO” report section in your app.
  • Sort and filter your report by time, active status, completion status, lines, etc.
  • Download a CSV of your filtered report at any time.

8   View a list of in progress action items

  • Go to the Menu and find “Action Items”.
  • View basic information about each action item.
  • Click on the M-EWO number to view the action item in the context of the full event information.
